Support
Tennis Assistant is an app for iPhone and Apple Watch, and for Android phones and Wear OS watches, that tracks your match scores, training sessions and gear life in one place. The most common questions are below. If your answer isn't here, email me directly — I read every message.
I usually reply within 2–3 business days. If you're reporting a bug, please include your device model and iOS or Android version.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. The app works without one, and by default your data stays on your device only. See the Privacy Policy for details.
I'm not getting restring or grip reminders
Reminders are local notifications, so they won't appear if notification permission is off. Enable it on iPhone in Settings → Tennis Assistant → Notifications, or on Android in Settings → Apps → Tennis Assistant → Notifications. The reminder fires once, when a string's played hours cross the threshold you set — the hours are added automatically from your match and training records. For grips there's also a morning reminder 30 days after you put one on, even if you've played little.
How do I share a match result?
Tap Share on the result screen when a match ends, or in the detail of any finished match. A court-colored score card is created and your phone's share menu opens (Instagram Stories, WhatsApp…). Use Hide opponent to remove your opponent's name from the card. The card is created on your device and is never uploaded.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought from, not in the app. On iPhone: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions → Tennis Assistant Pro. On Android: Google Play → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling never deletes your data — only the Pro features switch off.
Restore purchases isn't working
Tap Restore purchases on the Pro screen. If nothing happens, make sure you're signed in with the account you bought with: your Apple Account in the App Store on iPhone, or your Google account in Google Play on Android. A subscription belongs to the account, not the device, and one bought on iPhone doesn't carry over to Android (or the other way round).
iCloud sync isn't working
Two things are required: a Pro subscription and a device that is signed in to iCloud. The app never asks for an iCloud account; it uses the one in Settings. After turning sync on you must relaunch the app (it tells you so with an orange notice). All your devices must use the same Apple Account.
Google Drive sync isn't working (Android)
Sync requires a Pro subscription; when you turn it on you're asked to choose a Google account and grant access. The app only accesses its own hidden folder in your Drive and can't see your other files. Choose the same Google account on all your Android devices, and tap Sync now if you don't want to wait. Sync works between Android devices; it doesn't merge with iCloud data from an iPhone.
What does AI Coaching send?
Only aggregate numbers: your match results, scores, court surface and training summary counts. Your notes are not sent. Opponent names are not sent either — they're replaced with a pseudonym (“Opponent 1”) before leaving the device. See the Privacy Policy.
A match I scored on my watch isn't on my phone
The watch sends the match to your phone in the background. On Apple Watch, if it hasn't appeared, open the app on your iPhone once — the queued transfer is delivered then; make sure the two devices are paired and on the same Apple Account. On Wear OS, check that the phone app is installed and that the watch is paired and connected over Bluetooth; matches scored while the watch was out of range are transferred automatically once it reconnects.
Matches aren't saved to Health Connect (Android)
After your first match on a Wear OS watch, a Save watch matches to Health Connect card appears on the phone's Matches tab; grant permission there. You can change it later in Settings → Health Connect. The app only writes to Health Connect and never reads from it.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. If you use iCloud sync, you can also remove its iCloud data from Settings → your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage. On Android, delete the Google Drive backup under Google Drive → Settings → Manage apps → Tennis Assistant → Delete hidden app data.
